Tip: Make sure you don’t press too hard on the paper when you draw your pencil lines so that you can correct your mistakes with an eraser as you go through the tutorial.
Step 1: Draw the Main Beams
Start drawing the overall shape of the antlers by drawing two main beams that will form the base of your antlers.
Draw a curved long core line for the first main beam using a light pencil stroke. Then, repeat on the opposite side.
Step 2: Draw Branches
A. Draw two medium-length curved lines for the branches.
B. Add two smaller branches.
Step 3: Add Extra Lines to the Branches
To complete the basic structure of the antlers, add gently curved lines adjacent to each branch you just drew, then connect these lines at the top where the main antler beams meet.
Step 4: Add Small Branches
Add two more small triangle shapes to create two small branches.
Step 5: Outline the Branches
Outline the branches using a dark pencil stroke.
Step 6: Add Details
A. Draw a few small ridges and lines where the beams meet the branches.
B. Draw a small curved line just below the main beams, so it looks like the top of a deer’s head.
Step 7: Add a Three Dimensional Look
To achieve a more realistic three-dimensional look, add some core shadows between the beams and branches by smudging the pencil with your finger.
