Today, let’s try Cupcake Drawing! In this post you will find step by step instructions for creating an Easy Cupcake drawing in just 5 steps. This fun lesson was scanned from a vintage children’s book in my collection. At the bottom of the post you will find a printable practice worksheet that you can print out, with some blank space included, so that you can practice right on the page. Practice drawing these and then create dozens of Cupcakes if you like! You can print out as many of the worksheets as you want to share with your Family, Sunday School Class, Classroom, Creative friends meet up, Senior Center and more. Now let’s get drawing! For Non Commercial Use.

Kids or grown ups alike can follow these simple steps with this Cupcake Drawing guide! I would recommend creating your drawing with a pencil, as you can erase if you have any mistakes. Step 1 of lesson

Step 1: Let’s draw the base of the cake. Draw a shape that looks like a “u” with a flat bottom. Notice that the sides angle out as they go up.

Step 2

Drawing the outline

Step 2: Next add the outline for the frosting by creating a curvy line that looks a bit like a mountain or cloud.

Step 3

How to Draw a cupcake

Step 3: Now you’ll sketch in some lines along the base of the cake to create pleats in the cupcake liner.

Step 4

Step 4: Sketch in some extra little curves here and there on the frosting to make it look fluffy.

Step 5: Finish your tasty treat off by topping it with a little Walnut!

The only thing left to do now is to color in your adorable treat! Go grab your markers, Crayola crayons, oil pastels or color pencils, or whatever you have on hand, and finish your artwork masterpiece! This one is colored in with vanilla cake and pink frosting, but you can let your creativity go wild and use whatever colors you like! You get to decide!

How did the cupcake – a sweet muffin with sugar icing on top – come to be our go-to treat for celebrations?

According to the Hummingbird Bakery, “While cake itself in some form or another has been around since ancient times, cupcakes first came about in America.”

The first reference to these single-serving cakes seems to be in a 1796 cookbook entitled American Cookery.

1. Begin the cute cupcake outline by drawing the paper wrapper. Use three curved lines to sketch the open, three-sided shape.

2. Begin sketching the icing on top of the cupcake. Use a series of “U: shaped lines of different sizes.

7. Give your cartoon cupcake a cute face. Draw two large, circular eyes with smaller ovals inside. Shade between the shapes. Then draw short curved lines above the eyes to indicate the eyebrows.
