TOM BROWN FINE ART
I painted this at the ocean in Laguna Beach as a demonstration for my Plein Air class Saturday. It’s painted on a lightweight fom-cor panel that I gessoed before painting it. The gesso caused the panel to slightly warp, but I think it should easily flatten again when mounted in a frame. This painting is a little gem and I think it will look wonderful when properly framed and displayed in any room.

About Me
Name: Tom Brown Location: So. California, United States
I am an American artist and I host a TV Art Instruction show where I teach studio oil painting and plein air painting in the Impressionist style. I also teach other artists how to paint through oil painting workshops and art instruction CDs and DVDs. My Impressionist plein air landscapes, still life compositions, portraits and figure paintings have been represented through prominent galleries for more than 20 years. My paintings are in corporate collections including the City of Irvine, Sears, Standard Oil, and Coca Cola. My work is often seen in leading art publications like Southwest Art, Art & Antiques, American Art Review, American Art Collector, Art Calendar and others. I am a former president of the Orange Art Association and past member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and Southern California Plein Air Painters Association. On my Daily Painter blog I offer affordable small original oil paintings to introduce my work to new and ongoing collectors. How do I find out when new Original Paintings will be released?
The very best way to make sure that you are among the first to be alerted to Christine’s newest original Painting releases is to make sure you have joined The STUDIO LIST. You will not be “spammed” -we promise. 😉 You will only be notified of Original Painting Collection releases (as well as the occasional separate paintings) and new Print Releases. Members also enjoy tidbits from behind the scenes and “Member’s Only” Discounts! Including 10% OFF the day you join! What materials do you use?
Original Paintings are created with the highest quality oil paints, or acrylic paints, and/or a combination of mixed media. Canvas Prints are printed with archival inks on the highest grade 100% cotton, primed canvas.
Will my new Canvas Print have Texture?
Canvas Prints do NOT contain the texture of Christine’s Original Paintings, however they do look IDENTICAL to the images you see in the photos. Meaning, some may appear to have texture, but are actually smooth. If the texture from Christine’s brush strokes and palette knives is important to you, then please shop for an Original Painting, or request a quote for a Commissioned Painting.
Do you provide framing?
Yes! We are able to frame most Original Paintings (up to 36×48″) and most Prints! You can “quick order” a Canvas Floater Frame for many popular Original Painting sizes here. If you would like assistance, please reach out via chat or the contact form to request a quote for a specific painting or print to be framed.
