Hi friends! Call it a watercolor obsession, or a momentary lapse of reason, or the fine line between a hobby and a mental disorder but I have purchased not one, but two more sets of budget watercolors to review. I couldn’t help myself when I spotted the Art Whale brand of watercolor pop up on amazon. I knew they were likely a company having their paint made by another company through private labeling but the tubes looked really nice, they were in 15ml metal tubes (student grade usually have 5, 7 or 12ml tubes made of plastic) and the tubes had pigment info on them. Curiosity (and a $5 off coupon) got the best of me and I ordered a set. Check out my full review in the video below.

Superior Watercolor Set
These watercolors are fabulous! They blend really well. The brushes that came with it are so superior compared to other products I own – I love that it came in two different sizes. Excellent quality and it has everything you need to get started!! The paper has an odd shape, but it’s cold press watercolor paper with really high quality. The ebook is also amazing, it’s simple and with great design ideas. Also fun to paint with your kids and easy to follow along.

Awesome set! The colors are pigmented and easy to use. The brushes are super nice as well as the paper. The online booklet is pretty cool too. It goes over the basics and helped me out a lot.
Really good water colors
Really good product t comes with paper brushes paint and classes. I’m still only a beginner but it is really easy to use and the color pay of is amazing. I attached photos of swatches and a painting I made with it so you can see how it looks. The paper it really good quality and the brushes are the perfect show to do detail work and larger strokes. I just wish they had more skin colors some of the browns are too yellow to be a good skin color.
