#1 Carve a pumpkin

It wouldn’t be Halloween without a ghoulish pumpkin on your doorstep. Here’s an easy step-by-step guide for carving a pumpkin with ease. 1. Before you start carving, outline your design. Use a marker and draw the design directly onto the pumpkin. Psst! Free pumpkin stencils available here! 2. Use a knife with a serrated edge to cut around the eyes, nose, mouth and eyebrows. 3. Then take a spoon or an ice cream scoop and slowly and carefully dig out all the pulp and seeds.

Letting your little ones loose with a carving knife can be a risky business. So here is a perfectly safe, fun and stylish idea that requires zero knife skills: paint your pumpkins! You’ll need
– Pumpkin
– Black paint
– Thin paintbrush
– Thick paintbrush 1. Pumpkins have built-in sections that makes it very easy to paint a stripy pumpkin. Start by outlining each section with a thin brush. 2. Now, paint the stripes with a thick brush. Tip: You can also paint each section in a different colours or paint your pumpkin pitch-black and add playful orange dots from top to bottom. And if your kids are up for it, paint a cobweb and a spooktacular spider.
