Painting a palm tree made easy

artistintheshed

A vibrant new collection of 20 palm tree paintings to bring colour joy to your walls

Affordable, mixed media original paintings on paper in my signature style.

These abstracted palm trees are for me the embodiment of travel memory – emotional imaginary landscapes created as intuitive responses using the subject as a conduit for expression. Palm trees have long been an inspiration in my creative practice. They provide me with a symbol that enables infinite ways to exploit colour contrast fused with inventive expressive mark making that are distinguishing features evident in many of my paintings.

Take a look at the paintings and press the blue button below to buy or to ask me questions about the series. I make it easy to buy and if the painting you like is available I invoice you by email so that you can pay securely with a card.

A gentle reminder that the Paintings are reserved for four days from date of invoice. If the invoice is not paid in that time the invoice will be cancelled and the painting will be taken off reserve and offered again. Please read the terms and conditions for sale at the foot of the page for all information you need, particularly if you are buying from outside of the UK.

Have fun choosing

This is what one customer said:
‘I love the paintings. They are so colourful and I’m glad I bought two. Thanks for everything and carry on painting your vibrant, joyful paintings – they are beautiful and certainly make me smile.’ Julie – Birmingham UK

The small print

Some paintings measure 15 x 11 inches and some are on A3 paper. This is clearly shown in the caption for each painting. All paintings are made onto quality water colour paper. The paintings do not have borders . The images go right up to the edge of the paper.

Each painting is named in pencil on the back and all paintings are signed on the back.

All 15 x 11 paintings are offered for £105.00 and the A3 paintings are £125.00 plus tracked postage to where you are. This is £10 for UK customers.

All paintings have been photographed in normal day light but I am not able to control any slight differences in colours as they may appear on your phone, tablet or computer. All care has been taken to photograph each painting as accurately as possible.

Shipping

All paintings are sent UK Royal Mail tracked. Once the painting is on its way an email will be sent to you with the tracking number. The paintings are placed into a cellophane art bag for extra protection and then placed into a card reinforced envelope.

New Art: “Happy Sunny Palms” Palm Tree Painting

sunny-palms-2.jpg

sunny-palms-2.jpg

I’ve been eyeing palm trees for months now. Maybe because I grew up in New Jersey and used to deciduous trees, or maybe because they remind me of sun and vacation. The intricacies in each tree makes me stare at them forever. I always try to take snaps on my iPhone for inspiration. But this painting was designed purely on my own imagination.

I sketched it out yesterday in my sketchbook.

I then toyed around with a few color options and then faced my canvas to make this a reality. I’ll admit, painting palm trees intimidate me. Not even a little bit, a lot. It seems like a simple easy thing to paint, right? But after observing them for so long, I know they’re anything but simple.

The finished result was beautiful, if I do say so myself. I added a Dubai skyline in the foregrounds, and I just love the subtle tonal variations at the bottom of the painting. The palm trees in the focal point appear to be dancing. And I love the jewel-like trunks that hold them up.

Watch the video here.

Fortunately, this painting sold the same day I posted it. The new owner will be a teacher from the US here in Al Ain, UAE. I’m so glad she loved this one as much as I do!
