Heather the Highland Cow – Paint Party

Come and join us on the afternoon of Monday 21st August 2022 at The Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon painting our always popular Heather the Highland Cow under the expert instruction of our workshop leader Sophie.

No experience needed. You can either follow the instructions or ‘express yourself’ by putting your own personal touches on it as much as you feel comfortable to do so. If you so wish, you can change the colours (maybe to fit in with home décor or a favourite colour), change the silhouettes (if applicable) or add extra details. We just love it when people get creative but we are equally as happy when people stick to the set pace. It’s totally your choice. At the end of the evening you should have a painting that you love.

Everything you need to paint is supplied including a 16” x 20” stretched canvas, acrylic paints, brushes and an apron. Your canvas will be pre-traced with the highland cow outline.

Looking for things to do in Essex? Then this is something you need on your radar! The event will start promptly at 12:00pm (noon) and run to around 3pm.

22% of each ticket will be donated to help the residents of Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. Each ticket includes general admission to the sanctuary. Hopefield is open 10am to 4pm so why not come early and explore the park.

Whilst our events are aimed at adults, this venue is family friendly and therefore older children are welcome to come paint with their parent(s) or guardian(s).

Please arrive 10 minutes early to book in and grab a drink from Max’s Café. There is free car parking available on site.

Old clothing is recommended just in case there are any accidents with the acrylic paints. Aprons will be provided. We will be taking photos throughout the event for our website and social media. Please advise us if you do not wish to be featured in these photos.

SCOTTISH HIGHLAND COWS:

The Highland cattle is one of the most iconic animals of Scotland. It is arguably the most stylish fuzzy cow in the world. These creatures are very cold-tolerant and are the oldest breed of cows in the world. (Source: Scottland.com.) They have the ability to live and survive in the harsh climate due to the strong immunity and perfect hairy outer coat and a thick inner coat. Highland cows are quite large and imposing creatures, not faint of heart. A fluffy cow can protect itself by charging and impaling even such deadly predators, as cougar or wolf.

Calling all Outlander fans! If you love the Scottish Highlands from watching or reading about Jamie and Claire’s adventures in Outlander, this would be the perfect painting for you. It would also make a great, unique gift for someone who loves the Highlands or Outlander. My customers often buy my Highland artwork to give to loved ones who adore the Highlands.

COLOR MATCH QUEEN:

I’m known as the Color Match Queen of social media because I have the skill of mimicking colors realistically with my paint.

I pursue high-efficiency, low waste art making methods because I care about the environment.
