In this class we create 4 celestial-themed galaxy coasters using acrylic paint on wooden coasters! You can use them in your home after, or gift them to a friend as a really great prezzie!
If you don’t have the coaster blanks you can still create these coasters using mini canvas boards or whatever materials you have at home.

– Acrylic paint of your choice (titanium white, mars black, primary colors, medium pink)
– Paint brushes (large flat, medium round, and detail)
– Cup for making a circle, and to mix white paint and water
– Palette (option to use recycled food container lid)
– White pencil crayon (option to use a pencil)
– 4 wooden coaster blanks
– White Posca marker
– Liquid varnish and foam brush
– Acrylic glazing gloss

What you’ll do
Paint at this fun, beginners’ art class in London and enjoy exploring the stars and your creativity.
Humankind’s search to be space colonists is a fascinating story and the 21st-century space race is here! It could lead to space vacations lasting ten minutes, orbiting hotels and human settlements on Mars. But there are more stars on the horizon.
With this to chat about, you’ll explore the night sky through your artwork. This beginners’ acrylic painting class will calm your mind, arouse your curiosity and help you get creative. You’ll paint the celestial stars and galaxy and will soon tune into a relaxing state of mind.
Guided by an expert teacher, you’ll be taught how to paint step-by-step. This painting class is designed to help you relax, have fun, meet like-minded people and create some art that is meaningful to you.
Learning to paint in an open and friendly environment will give you the confidence to express yourself. You’ll be shown how to best use acrylic paint – a great paint for beginners for ease of use and its quick drying time! You’ll be taught some simple tips to get you started and you’ll soon be fully immersed in your activity.
By the end of your London painting class, you’ll be filled with the wonder of the stars and will have your own handpainted celestial artwork to take home with you.

Overall I enjoyed this class! The person running the class was lovely and super helpful when we needed support. I also really liked the painting that we were doing. However, the space in which the painting class took place wasn’t the largest so felt a bit cramped. Also, it unfortunately wasn’t a proper guided paint, as the person demonstrating was behind due to having to support people in the class – this meant she was simply telling us what we could do next rather than showing us. Once she got back to painting she would quickly catch up, as oppose to the guide and painters doing it at the same time.

Thank you for your feedback. All feedback is very valuable for us to monitor the quality. As this was a public class and not a private class, customers may go at different paces and some customers may need extra support. The teacher was giving extra support to those who needed it. We also had another assistant who came round to personally ask you if you needed any additional help and explained to you and your friend anything you needed help with by also showing you on the canvas how to do it.

The teacher and the class was really lovely. The venue in my opinion was way too dark for paintint and a little cold for some reason they werent able to put the heating on. I would def do this class again but in a different venue

I had great fun at this class. It was Lucy’s first class and she was really friendly. I felt that the venue was a bit cramped for the number of people there, we couldn’t move around at all in our seats. The instructions when painting weren’t very clear either, one of the instructors started and then the other was painting something different which was a bit tricky. Overall, i enjoyed the session and the length but a few things could have been better.
