Little Artists-Picassos: Taught by Katie
Let’s get colorful! An introductory art class for young kids to explore different art mediums and techniques. We’ll enjoy fun and engaging art projects to inspire their creativity. Children will learn the fundamental elements of art from line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and space. Including some additional fun fall, and festive art projects along the way. This hands-on class will motivate, inspire and build confidence in our young artists.
*Please make sure kids wear clothes they can get messy or an old T-shirt/apron to put over their clothes for class.
Intermediate Artists-Matisse: Taught by Katie
Let’s learn about art and get creative! Students will experience the fundamentals of art engaging with a variety of materials, techniques, and some art history along the way. Every class, they will explore a variety of art media like watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk, colored pencils, pen and ink, clay, collages, and many more through creative art projects. Students will find the fun in art and be inspired to find their inner artists.
*Please make sure kids wear clothes they can get messy or an old T-shirt/apron to put over their clothes for class.
Open Studio Art: Taught by Katie
Come create, inspire, and let your imagination guide you as you enrich and deepen your individual artistic voice. This class is for students interested in creating independent art in their preferred art media from painting, drawing, chalk, pastels, and more. Students will select their concepts and will work on their projects throughout the session with guidance from the instructor, students will have access to materials, and space to explore their artistic interests while connecting with other young artists. Concluding in a class art show and open discussion of technical skills and viewpoints.
*Please wear an old T-shirt/apron to put over their clothes for class. A personal music player with headphones is welcome.
FUNCTIONAL HAND-BUILDING CLASS
Students will learn how to build various projects out of clay by hand, using 3 or more techniques.
Students will also learn the entire process of making completed ceramic projects.
Class will provide clay, tools, glaze, and demonstrations.
Potential projects – mugs, bowls, plates, trays, tiles, magnets, lidded boxes, jars, vases.
Adult Art Class: With Tabitha Lemmon
Whether you’ve been painting for years or have never picked up a paint brush, this class is for you. Art techniques will be taught over 3 months. With just one hour week, you will learn so much and enjoy some peaceful art therapy. We will be using acrylic paint and creating your very own keepsake masterpiece. Increase your art confidence and get some you time!

What you’ll do
Have fun with acrylic paint and create a scenic desert sunset canvas painting these Melbourne school holidays! In this class, each young artist will go home with their own unique painting to take home and decorate their walls.
During the beginner-friendly class, kids will be guided through the process of designing a unique and dynamic composition, exploring texture and learning to mix and add shadows using acrylic paint.
This class is perfect for young artists who love to have fun with paint and create their very own masterpieces.
This workshop is taught by practising artists in a warm and nurturing studio environment. At Gloworm Studios we treat each student as the young artist that they are and respect each child’s unique creative expression. We value the enjoyment of the creative process above all
else.
All kids will take home their own desert sunset painting on canvas and a bunch of new skills.
- Please help us maintain a safe and comfortable space by complying with any hygiene and social distancing requests by staff.
- Parents are asked to drop children off at the door and pick up at the door to limit the numbers inside at any one time.
- All adults must wear a mask and sign in upon entry to our studio.
- In case of illness, please do not send your child if they are presenting any signs of cold, flu or any other illness. If you or your child has any of the following symptoms please do not come to class: fever, sore throat, loss of sense of smell, chills or runny nose. If a child presents to class visibly unwell we have the right to call their parent/guardian and ask for them to be picked up.
- Our studio is a cosy one, therefore, our classes are all drop-off only.
- Children in year three and above wear a mask while in the studio.
