Be careful! Your vase is fragile! This decorative effect is not as strong as a fired ceramic paint. Do not leave it to soak in water, or clean it with washing-up liquid or an abrasive sponge. Simply rinse it quickly with cold water and let it dry upside down, or gently dab it with a cloth without rubbing.

Paint Pouring On A Vase
My biggest advice when paint pouring is to prep your work space as this is messy-fun, but messy. I placed a large plastic trash bag down first, then used a large cardboard box to hold the vase.
- DecoArt Pouring Medium
- DecoArt Top Coat
- DecoArt Acrylic Paints
- Craft Sticks
- Disposable Gloves
- Mason Jar or Vase (Mine is from a thrift store)
Follow the directions on the pouring medium for mixing with your paint. I used acrylic paint (which is also included in the giveaway), so it is a 1:1 ratio of pouring medium to acrylic paint.
I am sharing the photos from the paint poured popsicle stick bracelets as I used the same paint and pouring process.
It’s as simple as pouring each color of paint on the item you are working with and tipping it and turning it until the entire piece is covered.
It’s fun to see how the paint flows and forms cool designs.
For the mason jar I added a touch of pink acrylic paint and also left off the top coat. You can see the large vase has more of a glazed look to it.
The top coat gives it a very professional, finished look.

You really need to just have fun with it and see what the paint does. It’s not an exact science and you might have to play around a little.
Also, it’s important to let the paint completely dry prior to pouring the top coat. It does take some time to dry, depending on the vessel you use.
I love how the large vase turned out. The streaks of paint are pretty cool and it looks like something you would buy from an art studio.
