Easter means spring and the celebration of life. Sure, the holiday tends to revolve around eggs, bunnies, and blossoms on branches, but we think it’s also the perfect time to toast the new season that’s upon us. To help you plan your own festive offerings for this special Sunday, we’ve rounded up our best drinks for Easter—you’ll find everything from family-friendly non-alcoholic sippers to spring-inspired cocktails like the Strawberry, Basil, and Honey Punch that’s pictured here. Whether you’re hosting a small number of family members or simply preparing a special spread for your household, these sips are drinks to delight.

Because there is something uniquely sparkling about the April sunshine, we made sure that our Easter drinks featured fresh color, aroma, and vitality. For brunches in the morning or the middle of the day—with plans afoot to move on later—we have included non-alcoholic drinks that can hold their own with food. How do we strike that perfect balance? By turning to bright fruits where tart or bitter flavors balance sweetness, of course. In some drinks, we even use vivid vegetables like carrots and rhubarb, which lend a complex freshness to the overall flavor.

There are many ways to add interest to your drinks. Because Easter sings spring, we think this is the perfect excuse to use scented and edible flowers in your cocktails: Lavender’s flavor is as compelling as its perfume, while the scarlet tartness of hibiscus balances sugar. And let’s not forget famously aromatic elderflower.

Fresh herbs enhance a drink’s flavor profile, too—think rosemary, thyme, and tarragon. And there are spices, both fresh and dried, that are worth bringing to the table. Ginger’s heat is wonderful with most fruits (especially citrus), and adds an edge to earthy carrot juice, while cayenne and black pepper breathe life into classic Bloody Marys or drinks that need a non-alcoholic boost.

Hibiscus-Honey Iced Tea

A picnic-ready carafe of ruby-hued hibiscus tea sweetened with honey and sharpened with lime juice makes a gorgeous Easter-blanket centerpiece. It’s easily turned lightly alcoholic with a little rum.

Mixed Marbles

It doesn’t get much easier (or more fun) than dying eggs in Cool Whip. And it’s perfect for the little ones to get involved. Simply add a few drops of food coloring into a bowl full of Cool Whip and swirl the color with a toothpick. Then, roll your eggs in the mixture until they’re completely covered, and allow the color to set for about 30 minutes. Rinsing the eggs will reveal a beautiful pastel marbling that will look amazing on your Easter dinner table.

If you’d like a brighter coloring to these eggs, let them sit in the dessert topping and food coloring for up to an hour. This method is super fun to do at an Easter egg decorating party.

Decorating easter egg ideas with bunny tattoos

Adorable Tattoos

Temporary tattoos aren’t just for little kids and birthday parties. Turn them into your next DIY Easter decoration! For this Easter egg decorating idea, apply themed temporary tattoos (we love these Easter tattoos from Amazon) to an egg’s surface the way you would on skin. You may have to smooth the tattoo onto the egg a bit after the tattoo’s backing is removed.

After Easter, use ’em up in one of these tasty hard boiled egg recipes.

Simple Paint

Get in touch with your natural side by painting simple designs—like florals, greenery or even a chicken—on hard boiled brown eggs. (If you don’t want to pay the extra few bucks, you can also lightly dye white eggs. And yes, there is a reason why brown eggs cost more.)
