Growing up in a cabin in the mountains, I was often greeted by the morning song of the cardinal. Whether gathering firewood in the woods or glancing out the window at the snow-white landscape, the vibrant feathers remained a welcome and inspirational sight. Using pages from vintage magazines and books along with paper materials collected on my journeys across America, I hand-cut each piece and affixed to a wood panel to create this vibrant wintery collage.
