Mountain Landscape Drawing. 7 Tips that Make it Fun & Easy

Mountain landscape drawing is both a fun and a learning activity. It opens our minds to the environment and highlights the need to preserve it. Mountain areas always are a breathtaking experience.

Good mountain landscape drawings not only describe your physical experience of seeing the environment but also how you would feel if you were there.

However, there is more to it:

Mountain Landscapes Depict Nature

There are two types of landscapes natural and cultural. Natural landscapes are views of the environment as found in nature, without humans making any significant modifications to it, e.g., deserts, streams, hills, rivers, and valleys.

Cultural landscapes show that we changed the natural environment by building roads, houses, bridges, parks, factories, and offices.

Landscape and Landscape Drawings

Landscapes are the part of our environment we can view from one place. The landscape draws from the Dutch “landschap” which means painting of the countryside.

People usually refer to landscapes as scenery or view in everyday language. Our earth has many landscapes like coastal, mountains, rivers, deserts, valleys, and forests. They consist of places with meanings for people, memories to preserve, and associated experiences. Such experiences have the power to influence their affection toward them.

According to a famous saying attributed to King Solomon: there is nothing new on the earth, God has already created everything.

An artist, who sketches a mountain landscape uses his imagination of a landscape and translates it onto paper.
