The character has its origin among the German Lutherans, being depicted as the judge for evaluating the behavior of each child in the world at the beginning of the Easter season. According to legends, the Easter Bunny carries colored eggs, candies, and even gifts in his basket to the houses of children before Easter. This characteristic bears similarity with Santa Clause as both of these legendary beings bring gifts to the nice children the night before a holiday.
