Gaylord Palms Resort prepares to open Grinch-inspired ICE! experience
KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Get ready to see the classic Dr. Seuss story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” in an all-new way.
Gaylord Palms Resort is preparing to open its holiday experience ICE! on Nov. 18. This year, the holiday event is making its grand return after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
“The overall feeling is excitement! After a two-year hiatus, bringing back ICE! to showcase the remarkable artistry, tell the classic stories, and create holiday memories that last a lifetime is a privilege to create and present for our guests,” said Niko Nickolaou, Senior Director of Special Events at Gaylord Palms.
On Thursday, members of the media were invited inside the chilly nine degree experience to see the final touches being added before the general public steps inside.

Over the past month, about 30 talented artisans from China have been creating the elaborate ice carvings.
Each artisan is using a series of tools such as picks and chainsaws to carefully craft each Grinch-inspired scene.

One of the biggest spotlights of this year’s event is the giant ice slide.
Families will climb a series of steps before sliding down the slopes passing the Grinch and his faithful dog, Max.

The experience ends with a beautiful Christmas nativity carved out of ice.

Our team of STARS (employees) works every day to prepare and set the environment for families to create lifetime memories.
Last month, News 6 was invited inside to see the artisans hard at work.
With the chilly temperatures inside, guests will receive blue parkas to enjoy the experience.
ICE! is just a small piece of the holiday festivities coming to Gaylord Palms Resort this holiday season. The resort has an exciting lineup of events including the Snow Factory, a Grinch character breakfast, Christmas shop, holiday escape room, live stage shows and a light show in the resort’s beautiful atrium.

Gaylord Palms Resort is offering special holiday packages that include special room rates and admission to select events. Guests are encouraged to book their experiences early, as advance online reservations are required for all ticketed events.

The Grinch Experience at Lu’s Place, Meltham (SOLD OUT)
Book your breakfast, brunch, or lunch with us on Sunday 17th December 2023 between 9:30am – 4:30pm and enjoy some festive family fun with a very special visit from ‘The Grinch’ in association with AJ Mascots!
‘The Grinch’ is far from camera shy, so there will be plenty of photo opportunities with him during the experience as he wanders through the venue, taking time for the odd joke and wind up with clients. Don’t forget our enormous 22ft Christmas tree, Grinch theme décor, Santa’s sit-on sleigh & our very own take on Rudolph & Dancer to snap some pics with too!
Unlimited face & body art (by Artifaces) is included and will be available throughout, as well as Christmas treats to take home! (For adults also! )
We will have our house breakfast and lunch menus available, plus some festive and Grinch-themed specials! (Green eggs anyone?)
Available sittings are 9:30am – 11:30am, 12pm – 2pm, and 2:30pm – 4:30pm with entertainment running from 10am – 4pm.

**A £15 per person experience fee will be required at the time of booking to secure your table with us. All food and drink menu items will be charged in addition to this on the day.
Terms
- The £15 per person fee upon booking is to cover the cost incurred to Lu’s Place for the Grinch character experience, face & body art, décor and Christmas gifts. All menu items are charged in addition to this.
- All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Dogs will not be permitted in Lu’s Place for this experience.
- All guests (including babies) must be accounted for within your table booking.
- All bookings must be dining with us.
- A discretionary 10% tip will be applied to all food and drink bills on the day.
- If the experience is cancelled, we will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you as soon as possible (including notifying you of the details of any rescheduling). If the experience is to be rescheduled, you will be offered a booking at the rescheduled experience (subject to availability). If you are not able to attend the rescheduled experience or the experience is not rescheduled, we shall give you a refund of the face value of the booking within 5 working days.
- No own food or drink is to be brought on to the premises.
- Lu’s Place reserves the right to update ‘The Grinch’ experience terms at its discretion.
